Corrective Care Works!
So, I come to learn the hard way that 10 years of poor posture from sitting at a desk and ignoring some obvious signs that something isn’t quite right leads to some pretty serious, and scary, problems. I first went to see Dr. Graf to help with a flair up of extreme lower back pain which was completely debilitating. In the past, I would tough through the pain and a few days later I would be fine, but this time was way worse and the pain wouldn’t stop. I also had an odd pain down my left calf. After an exam and x-rays, it turns out that I had lower disk problems, pinched nerve issues (explains the calf), and lack of mobility in my vertebra. Dr. Graf took the time to review the x-rays with me and luckily I wasn’t in too bad of shape that I needed surgery and we began the process to take care of the immediate pain and then began the long term correction. It didn’t take more than a couple of adjustments until the pain left and now we are in the process of correcting the years of abuse. He also is looking at the entire back along with the neck so even though I don’t have obvious symptoms with my neck, he observed signs that things may be starting there so we’re addressing them too. I think the take away is that Dr. Graf places a lot of emphasis on long-term correction vs. short term pain management which I truly appreciate.
